Do You Want This Or Not?

Wow, have I had a boring week!

Nothing really happened that I found was blog worthy.  I don't want to ramble on about random things that are unimportant because that's the fastest way to lose readers and I don't want to lose the ones I have.

I did have a couple of funny patients this week that made me laugh, so I'll share these stories with you.

I checked my voicemail during the day and a woman called asked if the doctor would call in, I swear to God,  a "paskiption"!

Then a few days ago, I asked a man if he could get me a urine sample.  He couldn't at the time, so before he left I asked if he thought he could get me one and he thought he could try.   So I show him where the bathroom is, walk away to clean the room and when I came back out to my desk he was waiting for me, cup in hand.

He told me (jokingly) to never, ever do that to him again.  He said, don't send someone in to pee in a cup and then not be there waiting for them when they are finished because apparently he was walking around carrying his pee, not knowing where to put it!  He then proceeded to show me what he looked like a few second earlier.  Walking around confused, pee in hand.

I laughed myself silly.  Then he reminded me he was still holding his pee cup and asked, "So, do you want this or not?"

I go to a lab to get a blood test every 6 weeks and I hear them say, "Put the cup in this holder on the desk before you leave."

So everyone has to walk by this rack of pee when they get called in. I always hug the other side of the wall as I go by.

In my mind the guy wandering around with his pee is Dad. Sounds like something he would do. Maybe you need a pee tray...

The GP I go to gives you a paper bag with the cup in it ready to go. Of course everyone knows what's in the paper bag, but at least no one has to look at it :) You just sit in the lobby with your bag and wait your turn!
