My Sister Tried To Kill Me Yesterday

My first week here in Utah has been pretty good.

I started my first day at my new job on Wednesday and I have to say, I don't think I've ever been so ready to go back to work as I was that day.
I love my niece and nephew very much but man, those kids wear me out! I have a new respect for my sister and all stay at home moms.

My new job is going great, I really like all the people I work with and for. Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly.

Friday I got to see my first real life sister-wife!!! I don't know why, but that really excited me! The receptionist at work told me the woman I was about to bring back was a polygamist. She didn't look like the ones they show on tv and in magazines wearing the long dresses and their hair with that weird hump in the front, she was dressed in jeans, t-shirt and tennis shoes and her 5 kids were all dressed to fit in as well. On a side note, she was 23 and had 5 kids! The oldest looked to be about 7-8 and the youngest was 6 weeks.

Saturday we went down to Salt Lake City to do some shopping and Connie and Calvin took me to lunch to celebrate my birthday. We had a great day. Downtown Salt Lake reminds me of downtown Denver.

Sunday was a girls day. Connie, my niece and I went to lunch and then did some more shopping. It was fun until Connie decided to take me to a scary convenience store to get something to drink and try and get me killed.

We pulled in to a gas station and Connie had me go in to get us drinks. I walked around the corner and saw 2 scary looking men in a car staring at me. I walked into the store and everyone in there stared at me too. I decided to leave my sunglasses on so as not to make eye contact with anyone. I ran to the back to get our fountain drinks and as I made my way back up front I noticed it was overflowing with more scary looking men. I was the only woman in there besides the women behind the counter.

Speaking of that, I noticed a sign behind the counter that read, "No energy drinks can be bought with food stamps".

I finally bought my drinks, ran outside and came face to face with a scary man that had tattoos all over his face, one was a teardrop and if my info is correct, that means he had been in prison!
I ducked my face and hurried toward my sister waiting in the car and proceeded to cuss her out for making me go to a place where my Versace sunglasses were worth more than the cars the people were driving there.

Click below to see the kind of place she took me to.

Are you sure that convenience store wasn't in L.A.???

Maybe your sister spiked your food, you blacked out, she dragged you onto a plane...and the rest is history.

It could happen! ; )

Glad things are going well in Utah! I can't stop thinking about that poor young gal with 5 kids! Strange. Please ask Connie to take better care of you :) & stay out of the scary convenience stores (can you help her get a picture of Julio?)

The video is funny Bobbi!

Just so you all know....we don't live near that store. We had to go change Bobbi's phone number and we were driving through downtown Ogden. I just pulled into the first gas station I saw. I'm exhausted! I wasn't thinking!

But I did get a good chuckle.

Were you in Ogden or West side of SLC??? I think Utah has some scary people in the mix of all the blonds! I feel safer when visiting family in NJ than when I lived in SLC. We always locked doors in daytime when home and set alarm when gone. Heading to SLC today to visit my old job gotta keep good relationship hope to get old job back when we move back. Hope you are enjoying Utah its hard place to live but beautiful place too.

Bobbi - I didn't know you were so well versed in prison ink.

I would be excited about the sister wife too. I only know mainstream monogomous mormons - but I'm just fascinated by the polygamists. I have to admit that the first year after the twins were born, I thought it sounded pretty good.

What's a Cholo? Get me hip.

Polygamy is one of my favorite subjects. Chris worked with a gal who was married to a guy who came from a polygamist family. I had Chris ask all kinds of questions. I'll get YOU hip. :-)

The tear drop may be indicative that he actually killed someone, (not just that he's been in prison) if i'm not mistaken. SCARY!
