Boy, have I had a busy few days!
On Friday, I left Dallas and started my 1400 mile trek to my new life in Utah. I drove for 15 hours on Friday, stopping in Denver for the night. I stayed with my sister's in laws, whom I've never met before, they were so kind to me and let me go straight to bed. I woke about 7 am and took the dogs out and remembered just how nice and cool mornings are in Denver. I'd forgotten how much I loved that town.
Day one was sooooo long! It took me longer than it usually does because I forgot how much more time it takes when the dogs need to do their business and stretch their legs. Buck took the whole back seat and Taylor rode shotgun with me.
They say that you learn something new every day. That day I learned that Taylor does not travel well. I've never taken her on a long drive before so I didn't know what to expect. I assumed she would calm down after a while and settle in to nap, but no such luck. That poor dog was up and down, up and down, round and round for at least 12 hours.
This is her after about 3-4 hours in the car.

Buck was a trooper, he just slept most of the way.
Edward, of course, accompanied me on this trip. He took over the driving for a short time, so I could get a break.

Day two was better, it wasn't quite as long of a drive, only about 9 hours. Taylor did much better this day.
She was even feeling a little frisky, she was flirting with some of the truckers.

Edward was on the lookout for the po po for me.

Sunday, was a nice uneventful day. It was so great to spend time with my niece and nephew! At dinner, Mallory told me she had missed me. My heart melted when she told me that.
Today, I had a job interview already! I had faxed off a few resumes before I left Dallas and got a call back from one of them the day before I left and we set up an interview for today.
She called me later and offered me the job!
I'm so glad to have found a job already, that's one less thing I have to worry about.
I start my new job on Wednesday.
So far things are going great! I hope this is a sign of better things to come for me.

Welcome to Utah! I hope you enjoy the mountains and all Utah has to offer.
Do you have family in Ogden? Congrats on your job and a fresh start!
The next time you travel with dogs, go into a pet store and ask them for the stuff that calms dogs down. (it might be lavender oil but I can't remember) You rub it on their stomach and they instantly relax.
Good luck in Utah.
Utah is sooo beautiful. I love Bryce and Zion. Glad you made it safely and great to see you back!
I am jealous that you had the ever sparkly Edward as a co-pilot. Lucky girl!
Good luck on your new start and your new job.
